Der norwegische Ökonom Prof. Dr. Ragnar Frisch (1895-1973) gilt als Begründer der so genannten Ökonometrie, die er selbst so erklärte: "which is simply the attempt of passing from the talking stage to the computing stage in economics." Gemeint war im Wesentlichen die statistische bzw. quantitative und computergestützte Analyse ökonomischer Prozesse.
1969 erhielt Ragna Frisch den Nobelpreis für Wirtschaftswissenschaften, "for having developed and applied dynamic models for the analysis of economic processes."
Die hier eingestellte Rede hielt er 1971 mit dem Titel: "Cooperation between Politicians and Econometricians on the Formalization of Political Preferences".
