In the desert of Mexico, two researchers are searching for the earliest works of art of mankind. A mysterious world of images made of rock paintings and engravings is hidden between deep canyons and steep rocky slopes. The archaeologists Beatriz Menéndez Iglesias and Tomás Perez-Reyes have many questions for the silent witnesses: What do the motifs show? Who painted them? When and for what purpose? With what colours and tools? The answers provide information about the way of life of early American people.
