Beatriz Menéndez Iglesias and Tomás Perez-Reyes want to identify and document as many rock paintings as possible as part of their research project funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation. With each new find, the scientists can establish new connections. With the help of topographic maps, they identify focal points of rock art in northern Sonora and link them to the regionally predominant motifs, revealing patterns and chronologies.
