Without mathematics there would be no advanced civilisations – this roughly sums up Dr. Sergio Alivernini’s research topic. In the project supported by the Gerda Henkel Foundation, the philologist and expert in ancient Oriental studies seeks to discover the mathematical foundation of the societies of early Antiquity.
