In her research project funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation, art historian Dr. Kata Krasznahorkai is investigating the role of civil rights activists for art and art history in Eastern Europe in the 1970s. To do this, however, she does not look exclusively at the art and artists themselves, but also includes files from the State Security Service in her research. The source material not only provides information about the reactions of the population to the campaign, but also about the artists' attitudes towards Angela Davis.
