The existence of philosophy as an academic discipline has always been a precarious one. It is not just since yesterday that philosophers have been discussing the problematic disciplining to which philosophy as an academic subject has to submit. Against the background of new modes of disciplinarity, multi-, inter- and transdisciplinarity, we are increasingly given conceptual possibilities to open up critical discussion spaces in which traditional and seemingly self-evident understandings of the role of academic disciplinarity and disciplining can be problematised.
"Multi-, Inter-, Trans- Disciplinary Philosophy?" would like to offer such a discussion space, especially in order to contribute to fixing these still vague concepts and to lend an orienting perspective to today's academic philosophy. The language of the event is English; we would be pleased to welcome participants from all over the world and from all scientific fields.
The event will take place as a daily online meeting via Zoom from 19th to 21st August, 2 to 6 pm (CEST).
In order to receive the link to the conference meetings via Zoom, the organiser kindly ask every participant to register for the workshop by sending a mail to niklas.grouls@uni-koeln.de. The conference is free of charge.
