The project "Shifting Grounds", funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation, takes the cultural scientist George Juma Ondeng' to the highlands of Kenya. There he meets a group of women from different communities who have special knowledge of traditions and taboos, and of the significance of Kenyan objects in Western museums - but also high expectations. For the mostly looted objects, like the head of a Nandi resistance fighter, are of great spiritual importance for the local communities.
