Another output of the Gerda Henkel Foundation-funded project on changes in the political identity of Kurdish immigrants in Western Europe was presented at the 20th IMISCOE Annual Conference at University of Warsaw on July 3-6. It was a paper about the immigrants’ gender attitude change with the title “examining the attitude change of Kurdish political immigrants towards the gender issue and its impact on women political performance,” which was presented and discussed in the panel “Migrant Political Participation in Europe.” Using a qualitative approach, the article has tried to reveal the changes in gender attitudes of Kurdish political immigrants towards women and the LGBTQ group and its effects on women's political activities in Europe. This represents a general shift in thought and action in men and women towards the issue of gender after interacting with European societies with a higher level of equality. Although women's efforts have faced obstacles, they have challenged the power of men in Kurdish politics. In addition, the presence in Europe has provided a basis for the recognition of the rights of LGBTQ people and their greater understanding. This paper is to be published in the future with its details in an academic journal.
