The archaeology of the Bronze and Early Iron Age of Mongolia has developed rapidly over the recent years. No other period of Mongolian history is currently producing more new material, data and narratives. With new types of monuments, a broader base of dating, insights into life-ways, herd management strategies and diet this knowledge about Bronze and Early Iron Age Mongolia archaeology and people interpretations and narratives of this period are (re)cast. However, these are often weakly linked to the better researched area of southern Siberia and northern China reducing the complexity of cultural change and the interconnectedness and interdependencies with neighboring areas.
This international conference therefore brings together the leading specialists who work in Mongolia, northern China, the Altai and southern Siberia and whose work contribute to a better understanding of the pastoral regimes of Inner Asia from the Eneolithic to the Early Iron Age.
