The Akademikör is an association of the Hungarian immigrants in Bavaria, founded in May 2012, which is the successor of a closed traditionalist circle of graduates with conservative civic values, of Hungarian origin and German citizenship living in the districts of Rosenheim, Mühldorf/Inn, Altötting and Traunstein in Upper Bavaria.
Among its previous activities, the best known are the support of schoolchildren and young people (this was the "Selige Gisela Wochenendschule", which functioned between 2014 ans 2022 and was closed down this year) and the Hellebrant Institute (Hellebrant-Institut), founded by Dr. Johann Reichenberger to review, organize and ensure the proper preservation of Hungarian-related privat library and archival materials in Bavaria. The establishment of the Institute, which is staffed by volunteers, was proposed by Béla Holl, a Piarist monk and literary historian, immediately after the fall of communism.
