In research on the precolonial history of the African continent, the centuries-old manuscripts from Timbuktu are among the most important sources. Researchers working on the Tombouctou Manuscripts Project at the University of Cape Town have the stated aim of collating the knowledge about and from these manuscripts with knowledge from other regions of Africa. Prof. Dr. Shamil Jeppie’s seminars provide a special platform where international listeners can compile insights and experiences.
