In her current research project, Prof. Dr. Marita Metz-Becker investigates how birth has changed over the past 50 years. To this end, she allows a large number of midwives between the ages of 21 and 92 to have their say and report about the very different experiences they have had. How has birth changed in recent years? What problems and what opportunities does modern medicine present? In the general interview the cultural historian also talks about the challenges presented by the project, the basics of her research, and her interest in the subject matter.
